Ko Phi Phi Thailand or “paradise on earth” if you ask me and I’m not exaggerating at all. Coming from Greece with all these beautiful islands, I couldn’t expect to face such a paradise – tropical scenery.
I decided to write this blog guide to give you an idea about the places you need to visit when going to Ko Phi Phi Thailand. If you are here, you have probably watched the movie “The Beach” with Leonardo Di Caprio and several other movies filmed around these magnificent islands, and in most cases you were stunned by the exotic beauty and tropical nature that you saw…well I don’t want to spoil the surprise but it’s TRUE!
Going to Ko Phi Phi Thailand – What You Need To Know Before

First of all you will need to come in Thailand and specifically in Phuket island or Krabi which is also near, both of them on the southern part of Thailand. In both places you can find daily boat trips and excursions that can take you around Ko Phi Phi islands. Your choices are limited cause you will need to go to another remote small island with no airport, so it comes to choosing a speedboat, a catamaran or a classic wooden boat.
All 3 of them come with different prices that vary depending the season you will be here, starting from $60 to $150 or more, if you chose a luxurious catamaran, for a day (if you go with a speedboat DON’T sit in front at the bow of the ship…you are welcome 🙂 ) You can find tons of different choices for daily boat trips online, however I would suggest you to first come here and then talk with the locals and bargain with the prices if you are on low-budget vacations. Here are the 3 most popular ways to make money while traveling, to never be on low-budget vacations again.
First Stop – Ko Phi Phi Don
Ko Phi Phi Don is the biggest of the island complex in Ko Phi Phi Thailand. Here you can find some amazing resorts and small colorful bars to relax if you are planning to stay for the night. The thing that amazed me was that there are no cars or motorcycles here…you just walk from the one end of the bay to the other and the only transportation mean is bicycles. The island is so small that does not support an other mean of transportation.
However on Ko Phi Phi Don you are literally on the beach shore all day long…no need for something else. Here you can also snorkel or go for scuba diving around the coral reefs or even go for cave climbing if you feel adventurous enough. Lonelyplanet has a guide about the top things to do in Ko Phi Phi Don, here
Next Stop – Ko Phi Phi Leh
But, wait! There is more…and now is the time for the big surprise…if you were still not stunned with Ko Phi Phi Thailand…get ready to face the paradise scenery of Maya Bay (aka “The Beach” beach). Now we are heading to the other smaller island next to Ko Phi Phi Don, named Ko Phi Phi Leh (or Ley, or Lee)
You will first stop at the Viking Cave sight which is a real cave with local aboriginal people who live there. They have built scaffoldings and other tools in this cave in order to support their daily activities which is to hunt and gather the eggs of a rare local bird, and then sell them very expensive, because it is thought to boost vitality by the Chinese tradition. Your driver will definitely stop there for you to check this place if you are going to Ko Phi Phi Islands during the high season.
…and ta-ta-tam! Welcome to Maya Bay! When I first set my feet on this beach, I really couldn’t believe the beauty of this place, it’s really like taken out from a dream or something, don’t you agree? Maya Bay is the crown jewel of Ko Phi Phi Thailand and I would suggest you to walk from the one side of the beach till the other and get into the local park with the amazing trees and sceneries also.
The texture of the sand is unprecedented and the colors of the water mind-boggling green BUT don’t spend your time swimming…just explore the whole island and you will be amazed with the “hidden” places most people never get to see. Go check the small and only building on this island, a local bar operating only the high season…this guy over there can be one of the happiest people on earth…what else would you want in your life than living in this place daily…
Final Stop – Ko Khai Nok
Ahhhh…the small piece of land in the middle of nowhere. Really, this place is like from another world, there is only 1 beach, 3-4 small rocks that form a small cliff, several restaurants and tons of colorful umbrellas. When you are visiting Ko Phi Phi in Thailand Ko Khai Nok is in the daily schedule most of the times.
When you get there, you will really not believe how is it possible for a so small island to be so beautiful…Enjoy the amazing beach in front or go for snorkeling over some coral reefs at the back side of the island. You swimmers out there, beware the strong currents, if you get caught to one of them you can as well end somewhere in the Andaman Ocean.
Ko Phi Phi Thailand – Closing Thoughts
It’s really sad to see people checking these places online, dreaming to visit them one day but never been able to accomplish their dreams. Personally I don’t understand why someone would choose to live the same routine and work in a box, daily when there are so many beauties out there, to explore, in this world.
And if you think you need tons of money to visit these places or live in a place like this…let me inform you that you’ve got it wrong. Would you believe me if i told you that your day would cost about $10 to live in Ko Phi Phi Thailand for example? This cost includes a bungalow rent in front of the beach, your daily food, renting a bicycle to move around and you still have some money to use…
That’s about 300$ per month all-included…so let’s make it 500$ to be 100% sure, ok?
Now what’s stopping you from having an online business – an “all-in-one” digital marketing platform that is there for you, day and night, while you are living such kind of lifestyle? What if I could show you how to earn as much as $3000 this month, online? Go here, start living your dreams NOW <<

That’s the problem mate…that most people don’t know they can live a life like this, with a way lower income.

We believe that we need $10k or $30k per month to be ok, when this is not true at all if you decide to travel outside US my friend.
It all comes to the decision one is going to make about the lifestyle he or she wants to have…Thank you for your comment 🙂
