Leaving all FUD aside, this quick post will indeed make you rich if you can only grasp the teaching behind the words. And no I’m not going to pitch you any kind of opportunity, promise 😉
It all started around Spring of 2017. That was the time I really jumped on the train of cryptocurrency even though I was aware of it from before. What happened after was kinda of unexpected from my point of view.
After reading a lot of news, articles and everything I could find regarding blockchain world (Reddit is your friend) – my investments proved very successful – managing to almost 15x (at it’s highest peak) my initial invested amount of money in about 6 months.
Wrong Mindset “People” Everywhere Looking For Quick Money
What happened after sharing my results on social media and with friends here and there was shocking. People I barely knew started sending me messages to manage their money, invest in my portfolio and give them tips.
When I came back replying to them that they would have to do their own research, make their own investment choices and stay updated with daily updates – like I did and keep doing daily – they were deeply unhappy and dissatisfied…
It came as a shock to me how easily people are willing to trust someone with their savings, their hard-earned money to the promise of becoming rich or fear of missing the trend.
I had to understand more. If you are feeling the same…take a deep breath and relax.
Instant Gratification
Since computers and smartphones become part of our daily lives our brains are trained to have anything we want instantly – thus Instant Gratification. This phenomenon is widely present to younger generations which have grown up with Facebook and iPads.
There is no more hard work needed to obtain something. Everything is in abundance, one can go and buy anything from a nearby shop. We forgot to respect hard work and instant results for better results in the future.
The most prominent proof of this is a 40-year long Stanford University study which started at 1960’s. In short, it proves that people who can delay gratification turn out to be more successful in their lives.
FOMO or Fear Of Missing Out
This is the most important problem of our time when it comes to trends. Trends that receive overexposure via social media and the news. Seeing everybody, your peers, colleagues and the average person following a trend while you are not, puts you instantly in a FOMO mindset.
Scrolling through social media you see only the best versions of your friends, the next best thing everybody (but not you) is buying – following – attending or investing in. According to a recent Texas A&M University study, FOMO can cause us increased anxiety, depression, worrying and lead us to irrational decisions.
I Promised I Will Make You Rich 😉
So, you want to be rich in your wealth, your relationships, your health, your business and whatever else you have in mind? Follow these proven to work tips:
- Do your research BEFORE investing or buying something expensive!
- Wait for at least 30 days before going forward with your decision!
As we geeks used to say for gadgets – RTFM (read the fcuking manual). There is a literally unlimited amount of information waiting for you to find and read that will definitely help you form a better understanding of what you plan to invest in or buy.
Sleep on it, play it around with your mind, write down the ins and outs of going forward with your decision. You could even do a SWOT analysis of it. Search and get advice from people who are already there – own the car or the house in that neighborhood, invested in that stock etc.
Hell, following those tips might even make you change your mind and save you from a totally wrong decision. (it’s where you thank me for helping you get rich 😉 )
Whatever you do though, DON’T take advice from your friends or family…If they haven’t been through the same decision before they just don’t know and will give you false advice.
